Elementary, my dear Watson (1)

There are no prizes for guessing what's happening in Monaco this weekend, as the F1 bandwagon rolls into town.

What's new?

It's party time in the Principality, as every venue entices visitors and residents with the promise of rubbing shoulders with celebrities, sports stars and VIPs. Flavio Briatore is opening his new restaurant and club, Twiga, and the Monaco Restaurant Group is set to launch its gourmet Chinese restaurant, Song Qui (see 5-11 Sep 2013 newsletter).

Looking ahead, voting is now open for the Golden Foot Award that takes place in October, along with the Sportel sports content conference. A month later the Parisian night club awards, Trophees de la Nuit, are being presented in Monaco as part of MICS clubbing show, and for whisky connoisseurs, the second Monte Carlo Whisky Conference is scheduled later the same month.

Finally, whether you're staying in Monaco to enjoy the Grand Prix, or taking advantage of the annual business office holiday, enjoy your weekend.

What's in the diary ....

Thursday: Peace One Day gala.
Friday: Amber Lounge fashion show.
Saturday: Skin @ Philipp Plein party.
Sunday: Bob Sinclar @ Jimmy'z.

Coming up next week, meet the author, arias and songs, and the return of the World Music Awards.

For lots more suggestions, visit maBoum's 7 day listing and enjoy your weekend.

(1) This week's quote is a catchphrase associated with Sherlock Holmes, the detective created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, born this day 1859. The phrase was never uttered by Holmes in the books, and may have originated in a series of radio plays.
