What's new?
One of Monaco's more unusual events, sheep shearing, takes place at the Jardin Exotique this morning. The rest of the weekend features plenty of things to browse around, with 2 French literature festivals on Saturday (one for children, the other regional), Monaco Red Cross' 65th anniversary celebrations, and the annual bouquet competition organized over 2 days by Monaco's Garden Club.
In restaurant news, Meridien Beach Plaza has appointed a new executive chef. Laurent Vandenameele has worked in Michelin starred eateries as well as gaining several years' experience with the Meridien Group. Over at the Fairmont, Argentin restaurant is to make way for the Japanese cuisine of Nobu during 5 weeks, including over the Grand Prix week.
Finally, Monaco's electric bike scheme is open to the public following a successful trial period. Time to leave the Ferrari in the garage and do your bit for the environment by using electrically assisted pedal power around town.
