If you're in town for the fireworks, the Oceanographic Museum is opening late so you can watch from its rooftop terrace.

What's new?

I Briganti looks set to change its manager, while Virage restaurant has just announced the arrival of new chef Laurent Sturbois, who is currently re-working the menus.  A'Trego has joined the growing list of restaurants hosting regular wine tasting evenings, and La Chaumiere is providing a 3-course menu and view of tonight's fireworks display for 55 euros. Located next door to the Jardin Exotique, Chaumiere is also working with Villa Paloma to provide a lunch box and museum ticket for 11 euros. Finally, the Port Palace is collaborating with trendy London restaurant bar Nozomi, to serve contemporary Japanese and fusion cuisine throughtout summer.

There are too many events to fit into the diary this weekend, but it's worth mentioning the three performances by Les 7 Doigts de la Main from tomorrow, and the Herculis athletics meeting, also on Friday.

What's in the diary...

Thursday: French rocker, Czech rockets.
Friday: Craig David entertains billionaires.
Saturday: Monaco's summer fete.
Sunday: bikers take over the port.

Coming up next week, George Benson, Prince's car auction, and Batman is released again.

For lots more suggestions, visit maBoum's 7 day listing and enjoy your weekend.

(1) This week's quote is a line from the song In The Summertime, by Mungo Jerry. The full phrase goes "We're always happy, life's for living yeah! That's our philosphy".
