Those of you who subscribe to our email newsletter will have noticed its new, slimline look this morning. We changed the design slightly after feedback from subscribers who use mobile devices to keep in touch with what's happening in Monaco. Hope you like it.

What's new?

Happy birthday to Jenson Button, 32 years old today, resident of Monaco and winner of the 2009 F1 championship.

Over the past couple of days, loudspeakers have announced the arrival of the circus throughout the Principality. Catch Saturday's parade in Port Hercule and the open day in Fontvieille for a taster of the spectacular shows. Variously priced pre-circus menus are being served from 6pm to 7.30pm every evening of the festival at the Columbus Brasserie.

Other menu deals we've been informed of recently include lunch at the Brasserie de Monaco with a main dish, drink and coffee for 14 euros. Even cheaper, the San Remo Bar on the Rock is enticing students with a panini / sandwich, dessert and drink for just 6.50 euros, as well as free WIFI.

For something more refined, the Montgolfiere's winter menu includes organic risotto, generous portions of cod, and panna cotta flavoured with Japanese green tea. As usual, a 3 course menu costs 39 euros, or choose a la carte.

What's in the diary...

Thursday: The greatest show on earth.
Friday: Silence in the library? Not today.
Saturday: Have you got the X Factor?
Sunday: Trenet's Boum and two French operas.

Coming up next week, tea and travel, wine and chocolate.

For lots more suggestions, visit maBoum's 7 day listing and enjoy your weekend.
