Featured place

After a day spent staring at the computer, we like to get out, and this week took a stroll along the coastal path at Cap d'Ail. We ended up at Cap Marquet restaurant on the beach, a quiet spot with no traffic, looking out to sea, where the helicopters come and go. One main dish was perfectly cooked squid and a lonely prawn, both in light, crispy tempura batter. The second was chef's swordfish steak, with olives, anchovies and capers fighting each other for top flavour. A half bottle of rose wine and a small bottle of San Pellegrino took the bill to 67 euros, and our evening was rounded off with the night bus magical mystery tour. Fantastic!
