What's new?

Lounge bar and restaurant Instinct changed management in May and is now part of the Mystic Cafe group. The Brasserie du Mystic serves after work aperos from 17:00 to 21:00 with a large dish of tapas offered free of charge.

Monaco features highly in two recently published guides. French travel book Petit Fute launched its first city guide for Monaco (9.95 €) with a party at Monte Carlo Beach's Deck restaurant. The gastronomic Guide Gantie celebrated its 20th anniversary and promoted its 2011 edition in the Hotel de Paris' Salle Empire. One of maBoum's favourite foody guides, it has a close relationship with Monaco, where the first edition was launched with the help of Alain Ducasse and Michel Pastor.

What's in the diary...

Thursday: the day of the outlaw, the night is for ladies.
Friday: healthy breakfast, sporty lunch, jazzy dinner.
Saturday: beside the seaside, musical nostalgia with indie and britpop.
Sunday: swashbucklers in training.

Coming up next week, enjoy music made by virtuosi and for the masses.

Featured event

Monte Carlo Voice Masters started yesterday. Along with the Piano Masters, and the Violin Masters, it's one of 3 music competitions held in alternate years in Monaco. The semi-finals take place in the Auditorium Rainier III today, where competitors sing 2 songs and 4 opera arias of their own choice. You can take a seat for 20 euros. Finals take place in the Salle Garnier on Saturday with the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra. Finalists perform 2 previously sung opera arias chosen by the jury, and a further 3 from a list proposed by the jury, and the winner takes away a well-deserved 30,000 euros.
