Vices in Disguise (1)
We're glad to be back from our travels, refreshed and ready to go.
What's new?
Although Ni Tapas has been closed for some time, the property rental agreement has only just been terminated, so we expect to see a new restaurant taking over the lease soon.
Later this month sees the first concert of the 2011-2012 Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra (OPMC) season. You can find out what's on the OPMC's autumn program and check what events are coming up by visiting maBoum.com.
What's in the diary...
Thursday: Back to business for Monaco's hospitality professionals.
Friday: Five final destinations?
Saturday: Italian treats.
Sunday: Hair today, gone tomorrow.
Coming up next week, Vienna Philharmonic, Monaco Yacht Show, Talk Like a Pirate Day.
Featured event
Those of you who know us well won't be surprised that we're featuring Monaco's participation in European Mobility Week this weekend. Starting tomorrow, you'll find workshops, entertainment and activities around Larvotto Beach, promoting the use of alternative energy vehicles, public transport, cycling and reliable old shanks' pony (walking). The Government is making bus travel free of charge on Wednesday 21st September, so leave the Ferrari in the garage and try an alternative.
Please note: when we feature places and events, we're writing our own personal opinions rather than placing adverts. If you have a favourite restaurant or bar that you'd like us to feature, let us know.
For lots more suggestions, visit maBoum's 7 day listing and enjoy your weekend.
(1) This week's quote is from a maxim by French writer Francois de La Rochefoucauld, born this day in 1613. The original reads "nos vertus ne sont, le plus souvent, que de vices deguises", or in English "our virtues are most frequently but vices in disguise".
