Viva Munegu! We're unfurling our flags to celebrate Monaco National Day on Monday.
What's new?
In addition to the Fete Nationale, there are two big celebrations coming up. First, Alain Ducasse has invited assorted chefs to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his Louis XV restaurant tomorrow. Then next Wednesday sees the publication of the 3rd Tintin adventure in the Monegasque language. Also next week, several businesses are starting Christmas and New Year celebrations. including the Metropole Shopping Gallery, welcoming Santa Claus for photo sessions, and the International School's Christmas sale.
The rumour about McCarthy's new owner has been confirmed, but plans for the popular bar are yet to be announced. We can only hope that it continues to serve Guinness, as it's the only outlet in Monaco for stout, apart from Prince Albert's private pub in the Palace. One place that's already gone through a metamorphosis is Black Legend's restaurant, which recently relaunched as Red Monaco. The food is Italian style, and the house speciality is pizza with truffles. Pasta and risotto from 17 euros, main dishes from 19 euros, and pizzas from 12 euros.
What's in the diary...
Thursday: Bolshoi Ballet on big screen.
Friday: mouthwatering Monegasque menus.
Saturday: a start with No Finish Line.
Sunday: festive fireworks.
Coming up next week, Fete Nationale, Universal Children's Day, and Monte Carlo Jazz.
