We love foodie TV programs, and if you do too check out French MasterChef on TF1 tonight, featuring the Fairmont Monte Carlo.
What's new?
There's a double celebration for hospitality professionals this week, as Monaco's hoteliers and restaurateurs pat each other on the back, and the Skal Club enjoys a Belle Epoque dinner. Monte Carlo Philharmonique Orchestra performs its first concert of the 2012/2013 orchestral season, and Monaco FC plays its 7th game of the football season.
In other news, the Oceanographic Museum is rewarding facebook fans with free entry tickets, renovation work is scheduled for Sacre Coeur church, and sadly, Jane Birkin has had to postpone her concert again due to poor health.
Finally, we're remembering Princess Grace who died tragically 30 years ago. A 3 day event celebrating her legacy takes place over the weekend.
What's in the diary...
Thursday: Americans dine and go bowling, British get happy.
Friday: Australian wine tasting with dinner.
Saturday: Reprise of summer's Roman romance, romcom and comedy.
Sunday: Get ahead with a hat.
Coming up next week, grumpy grannies protest, a punk godmother performs, and beware of bucaneer banter aboard the Yachts.
For lots more suggestions, visit maBoum's 7 day listing and enjoy your weekend.
(1) This week's quote is a line from the Inspector's final speech in An Inspector Calls, by J B Priestley, born this day 1894. The play expresses the author's political principles and is a critique of the hypocrisies of Victorian/Edwardian English society.
