Sorry! The newsletter's a day late and shorter than usual, because the maBoum team is moving from its palace eyrie to a quayside castle. Hopefully we'll be back to normal next week.
In the news we discovered that Monaco Red Nose day is going ahead on 6 December as usual. The event raises money for the Enfants de Frankie charity that helps disadvantaged children in the PACA region. You can buy 2-euro foam noses for vehicles in pharmacies, tabacs, newsagents, and Carrefour, and this year, rather than yellow, they're red and white.
Unfortunately the other big children's event of this time of year, for the Journee Internationale des Droits de l'Enfant, has been postponed due to Covid. It usually takes place on 21 November, organized by the Direction de l'Education Nationale de la Jeunesse et des Sports. It'll be rescheduled in the coming months, when the film Gogo will be screened in Grimaldi Forum's Salle des Princes.
Further restrictions have been placed on restaurants, which can now only serve lunch 12:00-15:00, and dinner 19:00-21:30. No more waking up with a breakfast coffee, nor relaxing after work with an Aperol Spritz aperitif.
Eagle-eyed Mr maBoum spotted a huddle of white parasols on the Rocher end of the cruise ship jetty a few days ago. Miami Plage, the pizzeria at Larvotto beach, has opened an outpost there, serving lunch 12:00-15:00.
