New accolades for staff and restaurant.
On 30th June the Cafe de Paris hosted the 13th edition of the Monaco Inter-Riviera Trophy. Organized by the Association des Barmen de Monaco (ABM) since 1989, it's a cocktail making competition that attracted around 60 bar staff this year from France, Italy and Monaco.
In 2009 the barman of Monaco Casino was hailed as best barman on the Riviera, and this year, two workers from the Fairmont team have come away with 3 prizes. First, Marie-Christine Paris was presented with the Prix Gancia, a special prize to honour her as the only woman in the competition. Secondly, Gilles Beauseigneur, who studied in Cagnes-sur-Mer, walked away with the first prize for a long drink, for his cocktail the Why not. He, also took first place in the best decoration category. Beauseigneur has taken part in several other competitions and is considered to be among the 10 best barmen in France under 25.
On the food front, the hotel's Argentin Grill restaurant has been awarded a 5th diamond in Monaco's official restaurant classification scheme. We wonder if the hotel will gain an extra star too.
