Monaco's beach services continue for a few more weeks.
As we're about to enter September, many of you will be back at work. Hopefully the good weather is going to last for another month, so there's still time to work on your tan, or have lunch outside at one of the beach restaurants.
Plage Larvotto is kept clean over summer by the Societe Monegasque d'Assainissement (SMA). This year the company distributed 7800 ashtrays around the beach in an effort to clear up the cigarette stubs. There's also a tractor that sifts the sand and collects litter up to 20 cm beneath the surface.
Out at sea, you'll find 2 recyclable plastic rafts, and closer to shore the anti-jellyfish nets. Sea water quality is monitored, and the lifeguards are on standby until 26th September in their purpose built, solar powered hut. Five swimmers had to be saved from drowning in 2009, so you might prefer to use the exercise bikes and running machines in the Larvotto Gym Centre while enjoying the view.
After a stressful week back at work, exercise or lie in the sunshine, but most of all chill out!
