Rally for Heroes

50 cars, 5 countries, 7 days

The Rally for Heroes spends the night in Monaco, following a ceremony at 9:15 this morning at the Monument des Morts in Nice.

Aiming to raise 100,000 GBP, the Rally for Heroes started out on Saturday 18th August from Dunsfold Aerodrome in the UK, better known as the Top Gear Test Track. Teams of civilians and service personnel are taking the road trip to raise money for Help for Heroes, a British charity that provides direct, practical support for those wounded in current conflicts. The rally incorporates a ride of a minimum of 5 miles for each service person killed in Afghanistan.

Rally for Heroes takes place from 18th to 25th August with overnight stops at:

  • Somme, France
  • Limoges, France
  • Monaco
  • Varese, Italian/Swiss border
  • Stelvio National Park, Italy
  • Edelweiss Lodge, Bavaria
  • Nurburgring Circuit, Germany for the finish and final party

The first 3 days take the form of a scatter run, whereby each entrant is given a location to reach by the end of the day, making their own way, with various optional tasks en-route. Points gained throughout the rally are added together to reveal daily leg winners and the ultimate Rally for Heroes 2012 cup winner.
