RBC business award relaunched

Riviera Business Club recognition for local businesses

Local networking organization Riviera Business Club (RBC) is relaunching its Business Person of the Year award.

Established in 1994 as the British Chamber of Commerce, the organization changed its name to Riviera Business Club in January 2010, aiming to attract members of all nationalities. Later that year, the last Business Person of the Year was presented to Karen Marsh of VBA International.

In reviving the award for 2013, RBC is now looking for laureates in two categories:

  • Business Person of the Year
  • Best Start Up of the Year

Winners receive a Crystal Caviar Trophy worth 4000 euros, pictured left, in addition to cash and other prizes.

If you know someone who you think deserves the title of Business Person of the Year, you're invited to nominate them using the official form available on the RBC website (at: RBC BPOY 2013) and in the September and October issues of the Riviera Times. Nominees must be registered and operating in the Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur (PACA) region and meet the following criteria:

  • Business Person of the Year registered and operating in PACA for at least 5 years, and head of company for at least 3 years
  • Start Up of the Year registered and operating in PACA for at least 1 year at 1 Jan 2013, and head of company since its founding
  • nominations accepted only from those not actively involved with the company

You have until 31st October to send your nominations to:

The Secretary
Riviera Business Club
6 avenue Lt. Ecochard
06200 Nice

After this date, nominees are contacted for information about themselves, which is used by a panel of judges to put together a shortlist of 5 for each category. The final winners are announced in December at a gala evening and award ceremony.
