Box office now open.
The 2010-2011 Princess Grace Theatre season starts on 7th October. There's a packed program of 23 shows, starting as usual with the Monte Carlo Magic Stars, which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary. All of the shows are French language, but if you're not yet sure if you'd understand everything, there are plenty of productions with a musical emphasis. The Red Army Choir, Chico & the Gypsies, and a tribute to jazz greats Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli are on the program. You could also try the musical shows Que Viva Offenbach and Le Quatuor Corps a Cordes.
Last year was a difficult season for the Princess Grace Theatre, with a drop in audience numbers that Director Patrick Hourdequin described as the worst in 10 years. With just 300 seats in the auditorium, the 2009-2010 shows had average attendance of 60%, although comedians Patrick Bosso and Michel Boujenah were both sold out. Consequently, there's an emphasis this year on humour.
We've listed the musical shows below, and if you'd like to see the full season's program of French language productions, visit the Princess Grace Theatre website. Tickets for each show are priced separately, but are usually in the region of 35 to 45 euros, with reductions for groups and students. Available from theatre box office, Fnac and Carrefour.
