A gourmet weekend trip from Monaco
Bradley Mittton's Club Vivanova is organizing a 3-day gourmet trip for 20 people, to Piedmont, Alba and Barolo.
The tour includes lunches, dinners (one of which is in a Michelin starred restaurant), and two winery tours with local Italian guides, all packed into the weekend of 25th to 27th April. The price of 950 euros per person, based on 2 people sharing a double or twin room, includes:
- two nights accommodation
- two wine lunches and two wine dinners with menu, wine, water and coffee
- winery tour and tastings at Agricola Marrone and Borgogno
Schedule overview
Organizers say there are a few minor points to confirm, but the main itinerary for the weekend begins in the morning of Friday 25th, when a bus departs from the Marriott Hotel in Cap d'Ail. Travellers reach Alba in the early afternoon for a winery tour, lunch and tasting at Agricola Marrone. In the evening, tables are reserved at the one-star restaurant Castello di Grinzane Cavour.
Saturday is market day, and the morning is dedicated to visiting Alba's famous produce stalls. A light wine lunch is followed by a wine tasting, and a visit to the Barolo Castle wine museum. The day ends with a Barolo wine tasting dinner at La Crota restaurant.
Travellers board the bus back to Monaco on Sunday morning.
If you're not based in Monaco, accommodation can be arranged at the Marriott for Thursday and/or Sunday nights, at an extra cost. For those who want to reserve a seat, a deposit of 300 euros per person is required before 15th April. Contact Bradley Mitton at club[at]clubvivanova.com for more information.
