Pedalling to plant trees

Keep fit and help the planet at EVER Monaco 2013

EVER Monaco, the eco-friendly vehicle trade show starts tomorrow, with plenty of opportunities to test 2 and 4 wheel electric vehicles.

This year event organizers have introduced a pavilion where visitors can find out about Monegasque organizations that are involved in sustainable development. One of these, the Fondation Prince Albert II (FPA2), is installing a tree of lights, powered by pedal pushing. Visitors are encouraged to take a turn on stationary bikes, and for each kilometre traveled, a tree is to be planted in Kenya as part of a FPA2 supported project to restore the depleted Kirisia forest.

The salon is also extending its coverage to include more information about saving energy, and visitors can take part in a free draw to win a new Smart electric.
