Limits on bargain booze offers.
Monaco has introduced a new law related to happy hour drinking. The legislation states that promotional sales of alcoholic drinks for consumption on the premises are subject to a specific period and duration. Restaurants and bars will now have to stick to a limit of 2 hours, which can only be offered between 17:00 and 21:00. Cut price soft drinks must also be offered.
Brasserie de Monaco has been quick to act. Its previous 3 hour window between 17:00 and 20:00 has been changed to the later time of 19:00 to 21:00.
Here at maBoum we'll be interested to see if our favourite bars decide to cooperate or compete. Will we see groups of punters moving from Rascasse to the Brasserie as one happy hour ends and another starts? Will restaurant bars change their times to entice diners to stay put after a half price glass of wine? Let us know what's happening at your favourite drinking den.
