New chef at Cafe de Paris

Philippe Jourdin heads the famous brasserie's team.

Michelin starred chef Philippe Jourdin has joined SBM's Cafe de Paris as Chef de Cuisine, succeeding Jacques Lambert. Jourdin has had a star-studded career, most recently at the Four Season's Domaine de Terre Blanche in the Var. His contemporary Mediterranean dishes, heavily influenced by Provencal flavours and produce gained Le Faventia restaurant 2 Michelin stars and 3 Gault et Milau toques. He's also worked in several other gastronomic kitchens, including as Chef at Moulins de Mougins and Cygne in Geneva, and the Tour d'Argent and Relais Louis XIII.

Jourdin joins a well-established team, with Sous-Chef Elio Rossi as his right hand man. Rossi will be a great help to the new Chef, having worked his way up the Cafe de Paris kitchen ladder over 20 years. The restaurant is capable of serving 1000 covers daily, and you can expect to find some changes to the menu as Jourdin injects some of his own flair into the classic dishes.

Over at the Riviera Marriott in Cap d'Ail, a new American chef is settling in. Little is known about Norman MacPherson, who was introduced during a recent cocktail to inaugurate the refurbished Cbar and pool terrace.
