New brew at Brasserie de Monaco

Beer flavoured with Monaco bitter oranges.

No sooner had we downed a pint of spring beer, than Brasserie de Monaco introduced another new brew. The brewers have been out collecting 25kg of oranges from the trees on rue Princesse Caroline. After peeling, the rind was dried and added to the brewing liquor using a tried and trusted recipe for white beer. Popular in Belgium, the ale contains organic wheat, bitter orange rind, coriander seeds and the best hops.

The beer is top fermented, with a refreshing taste, 4.8% alcohol, and is not at all bitter. Only 1000 litres have been produced, so if you'd like to taste it, you'll have to hurry. It's on sale only during April:
