OPMC's 4th CD release.
The Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte Carlo (OPMC) has released its 4th CD on the OPMC Classics label. Created by the orchestra's former Artistic and Musical Director Yakov Kreizberg, the label's first recording of music by Stravinsky was released in November 2010. The current recording is of Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovitch's Symphony no. 11, The Year 1905. Written in 1957, the music's subtitle refers to the events of the Russian revolution of 1905. The recording was made under Kreizberg's direction before he died suddenly last year.
