Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra winter warmers

OPMC's program from December to March.

The Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte Carlo continues its 2010/11 season's exploration of great composers by setting off on a tour of Germany this week, where audiences will be treated to the sounds of Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky. On their return to Monaco, the musicians play into their winter program with a concert of music by Mozart and Haydn.

The OPMC has a busy schedule during winter, collaborating with the Monte Carlo Opera, and with the Ballets de Monte Carlo's Sleeping Beauty. Violinist Julia Fischer is still residing with the orchestra, and once again there are regular rendez-vous at midday (midis musicaux) and for young people (a la rencontre du jeune public).

As the weather starts to warm up, the musicians tour Spain during the 2nd week of March, but will be back again for the 2011 Printemps des Arts and a spring program of concerts.
