The 2010 to 2011 opera season program was announced at a press conference last week by Jean-Louis Grinda, who also told the assembled journalist that his contract had been renewed for a further 3 years. After the great success of the 2009 to 2010 season, which has just ended, the program for the coming year includes 5 operas, one of which is a world premier, 3 recitals and 6 broadcasts screened live from the New York Met. Starting in November 2010, opera lovers can look forward to:
- Rene Koering's Die Marquise Von O, based on a Heinrich von Kleist novella
- Italian mezzo-soprano Cecilia Bartoli
- Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Florez
- German baritone Albert Dohmen
