Monaco le Film, the end

Tourist attraction to close

Reports in the media last week announced the impending final screening of the Monte Carlo Story at the end of March.

Since 1988, in a small theatre located above Parking des Pecheurs, the movie has related the history of Monaco and its princes. The founder of the attraction, Richard Projetti, has been looking for support from the Government and the private sector in order to continue operating. Without backing, the Monaco Le Film will close from 1st April.

Mr Projetti has long been involved in audiovisual and literary projects promoting the Principality. After working at Radio Monte Carlo, he opened his mini-cinema, Monte Carlo Story, which has also been used to host charity events, such as the IEFTA screening of Boy (2010). He has produced several videos, including one about the reign of Prince Rainier III, and in 2010 led the project to translate Tintin's Les Bijoux de la Castafiore into Monegasque. His achievements were recognized in 2011, when he was made a Chevalier of the Ordre du Merite Culturel.
