Outdoor summer movie theatre.

Lights, camera, action! On 20th June the first feature of the summer season flickers onto the screen of Monaco's Open Air Cinema. Starting with comedy The Hangover 3, the 500 seat outdoor theatre screens a different original version film every evening up to the beginning of September. The program for June and July features primarily sci-fi, fantasy and thriller movies, many of which are unfortunately in 3D format. Here at maBoum we're not fans of 3D at the cinema as we find that the necessary spectacles are not only cumbersome to wear, but also make the film itself darker. Luckily there are some films that don't use 3D, such as comedy The Internship, Tarantino's Django Unchained, and Sofia Coppola's The Bling Ring.
Cinema doors open at 20:45, the program starts at 21:30 and the feature film at 22:00. On 6th and 26th July, movies may be delayed due to musical firework displays in the port.
