Learn to dance in 1 weekend.
From 12th to 14th March, the Principality will be swaying to a Latin American rhythm as the International Salsa Festival of Monaco dances into town. Now in its 5th year, the event was founded in 2006 by salsa teacher Hamidine Thiam and events organizer Gregory Salerno, and has become a popular addition to Monaco's festival calendar.
This year, professional salsa artists are giving classes for all levels, from beginner to advanced. Stade Louis II is hosting the Salsa Village, with 4 large rooms for teaching. Once you've learned the steps, make your way to the Salle du Canton for a gala evening on Saturday night. Dutch choreographer Eric Lalta is staging a show that takes you dancing through the streets of Havana to discover the history and development of Cuban salsa.
You'll find the class schedule on the festival website, as well as a list of artists and teachers.
