Monaco International Musical Fireworks Competition 2013

Rock n roll and rockets around the Rock.

We always look forward to the musical fireworks shows during summer, and this year is no different. Organized by the Mairie de Monaco and teams at Espace Leo Ferre, this year sees the 45th edition of the Concours International de Feux d'Artifice Pyromelodiques, with two shows in July and two in August that last about 25 minutes.

Fireworks are let off from Quai Rainier III, otherwise known as the cruise ship jetty and you can see the rockets and flares from several places around town. To get the full effect, you need to hear the music too, and for this, speakers are installed on avenue d'Ostende and Quai Albert 1er. A sound system is also available at the Jardin Exotique, from where there's a panoramic view of the harbour, and if you arrive early at the Garden, you can also enjoy a pre-fireworks, free concert on 6th July, 9th and 21st August.

The four national competitors are hoping to win at least one of two prizes. The first is awarded by a jury composed of members of the Conseil Communal, the art world and civic society, and is presided over by the Mayor. A second prize is awarded by public vote through the event website at: Monaco Fireworks. If you'd like to register your vote, visit the website the day after each show, and click the button marked "A Vous de Voter".
