See the spectacular from a different angle
Tonight is the 3rd pyrotechnical performance in Monaco's annual fireworks competition, and we've got four suggestions for places from which to view the display.
Bateau Bus
During the day, Monaco's boat bus transports passengers from one side of Port Hercule to the other, but on fireworks nights, the operators run a special service. For 25 euros you can board the boat at 20:45 from Quai des Etats Unis for a 1h15 trip that includes a cocktail or soft drink and sweet treats. Children must be over 6 years old, and places are limited to 30 maximum. For more information visit the organizer's website at: Riviera Navigation promenade feux d'artifice.
Jardin Exotique
With panoramic views over Port Hercule, the Jardin Exotique offers free entry on fireworks nights. Organized by Monaco's Mairie, tonight's spectacle starts with a tribute concert to Leo Ferre. On 21st August, before China lights up the sky, there's a street theatre performance.
Many of the restaurants around Port Hercule have special menus for those wishing to enjoy a meal whilst watching the rockets and flares. You'll need to book well in advance, as places fill up quickly.
Stars n Bars StarDeck's fireworks menu is 25 euros, drinks not included.
Explorers Pub is offering a 3 course menu for 45 euros, which includes a choice of 3 dishes for each course.
