Three green spaces in the Larvotto area have been awarded Espace Vert Ecologique (EVE) certificates.
French certification agency ECOCERT carried out audits in April on the Japanese Garden, Villa Sauber's garden, and a collection of flower beds near the Grimaldi Forum. The visit noted gardeners' work in 3 categories:
- use of organic rather than chemical fertilizers
- management of water consumption
- using energy efficient growing methods and reducing waste
Monaco's Direction de l'Amenagement Urbain (DAU) is now aiming to obtain certification for the Villa Paloma, the Princess Grace Rose Garden and other green spaces in Fontvieille.
