Greedy ticketholders tout Eagles tickets

Free places now for sale online.

Unscrupulous locals are cashing in on free tickets for the Eagles concert. The event is supposed to be a gift from Prince Albert II and Charlene Wittstock to Monegasques, residents and local workers, a way of sharing in their happy wedding day. Within 3 weeks, all 15,000 tickets had been distributed through the ticket desks at Stade Louis II, but just a couple of days later there are several tickets being advertised for sale. Websites such as Ebay show individuals based in Nice, St Jean Cap Ferrat and Ste Agnes willing to sell their tickets at prices starting from 10 euros. The offers include photos of the tickets, most of which are for seats in the "virages" area reserved for local workers, but one is a for the "pelouse".

Event organizer Salim Zeghdar angrily condemned the ticket touts in local newspaper Nice Matin, and says the police have been alerted. However the practice is not illegal, so it's not clear what, if anything can be done.

It's especially disappointing for us here at maBoum. We turned up hoping to collect tickets for residents over a week ago but were told unapologeticaly that there were none left for Monegasques nor residents.
