Golden beer, brewed in Monaco

Brasserie de Monaco's prizewinning brew.

Last week, the Brasserie de Monaco won two medals at the 14th Concours National de Biere (national beer competition) at the Musee Francais de la Brasserie (French brewing museum) in Saint Nicolas de Port.

It's the first time the Brasserie de Monaco has entered the competition, which is open to amateurs and professionals, French and foreign breweries. In total, 270 beers were tasted by a jury of professionals and the Monegasque brew won two medals:

  • gold fourquet for its Pils beer
  • silver fourquet for its bottom-fermented* blonde beer

Francois Pichon, brew-master of the Brasserie de Monaco, is justifiably proud of the surprise win against the traditional brewing regions of France.
