Free buses this weekend

Monaco takes part in European Mobility Week.

From 16th to 22nd September it's the 9th European Mobility Week, promoting public transport, cycling and walking. In Monaco, traveling by bus is free today, Saturday and Sunday. There are also reductions on monthly travel cards and the Optima rail and bus card.

Several businesses in the Principality are also taking advantage of the week to promote electric powered vehicles. From 16th to 18th September you can try out an electric car on the promenade outside the Rose des Vents restaurant. Alternatively contact the local dealers Tesla, Go Electrix, Newteon, Auto Koncept, Be-Power, Movelec. On 21st September the Citroen Berlingo powered by Venturi will be on show on the courtyard in front of the Minister of State's building.

If you drive into Monaco for work, why not investigate the co-voiturage scheme to reduce the number of vehicles on the roads. And if you prefer two-wheeled transport, it's still possible to volunteer to test the CAM electric bikes if you're a resident (contact velos[at]cam.mc).
