It's the time of year all soccer fans have been waiting for, the start of the 2010-2011 season. Monaco FC heads up to Lyon for its first League 1 match, but you only have to wait another week until 14th August for the first home game.
Monaco finished 8th in the league last season, and was beaten by Nancy in the 3rd round of the League Cup. However the local team made it through to the final of the Coupe de France, where it was unfortunately beaten 1-0 by Paris Saint Germain, which was playing on home turf. Cup competition matches for Monaco this season start with the Coupe de la Ligue on 22nd September 2010, followed the Coupe de France on 8th January 2011.
