Contract splashing

A refreshing game for summer.

Don't be surprised as you're walking through town if the person behind you suddenly receives a soaking. It's all part of an American game called Splash that has been imported to Monaco this summer, after having taken to the streets of Paris and Lyon.

Players register online to take part, and they each receive a "contract" to "splash" another participant using a water filled weapon such as a pistol, bottle, or even a saucepan. The player who avoids a soaking is declared the winner, but won't remain dry for long, as the prize is an introduction to jet-skiing, and a banana boat ride. A first session of the game ran in July, and the August session has just started. Organized by the association La Boite de Jeux, subscriptions are free, but players must work, live or study in Monaco. President of the association Cedric Duwelz hopes to make the game an annual event.
