Cameras and autograph books at the ready!
The 52nd edition of the Monte Carlo Television Festival starts in just over a week's time, and as usual there are several international stars and industry figures attending.
Fans of American TV will be craning their necks for a glimpse of Jennifer Love Hewitt, (I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)) who's arriving to talk about The Client List. Eva Longoria of Desperate Housewives is also attending, and actor Ted Danson will be promoting CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
There'll be plenty of French stars too, including Julie Gayet, Olivier Marchal, and Anouchka Delon.
Although several British productions have been nominated for Golden Nymphs, so far few guests have been announced. In addition to news documentaries, items, and 24-hour programs, several UK series are in the running for awards. Television film Bert and Dickie, mini-series Appropriate Adult, comedy series Fresh Meat, and dramas Downton Abbey, Midsomer Murders and Whitechapel.
Not in competition, but of interest to fans of British comedy, a screening of an episode of VEEP is scheduled. The new sitcom is broadcast in the USA, but is written by British Armando Iannucci, whose writing credits include Alan Partridge. Iannucci will be attending the screening of VEEP on 13th June.
