Cafe Llorca to replace Karement

Grimaldi Forum nightclub won't re-open.

When reports of the June closure of Karement nightclub surfaced, there were groans from some and cheers from others. But the Grimaldi Forum management has confirmed that there will be no replacement disco for clubbers in the conference centre.

Originally planned as a tapas bar, Karement changed direction in summer 2004 when it started to become a popular night spot. In spite of its success, the original lease didn't include a disco in the specifications.

The space vacated by Karement will be filled by the Cafe Llorca, due to open in autumn. It will undergo a complete transformation, with the interior design being handled by Jean-Michel Wilmotte. Opening hours will cover breakfast and lunch, although private functions may be held there in the evenings.
