Bus diversions during Grand Prix

Changes to Monaco bus routes

Passengers should note that there will be changes to Monaco bus routes during the 4 days of Grand Prix races. Heavy traffic within the Principality, and daily closure of the F1 track will cause diversions to public transport services.

Track closure

The Grand Prix circuit takes in boulevard Albert 1er (lines 1,2,5,6), avenue d'Ostende (lines 1,2,6), avenue des Spelugues (lines 1,6), boulevard Louis II and avenue JF Kennedy (line 1). These will be closed to traffic:

  • Thursday, 6:00-19:00
  • Friday, 7:00-14:00
  • Saturday, 7:00-18:30
  • Sunday, 7:00-19:00

Lines 1 and 2

Both lines will be diverted onto boulevard Rainier III and boulevard Princesse Charlotte. When the track reopens, buses will use avenue d'Ostende and rue Grimaldi on their way to the Rocher, but continue on the diverted route in the direction of Saint Roman and Jardin Exotique, avoiding boulevard Albert 1er. Line 2 will still serve the tourist office.

Lines 4 and 6

The two lines will operate as a joint service, linking Saint Roman to Fontvieille via Place d'Armes. In the direction of Fontvieille, avenue du Port and the tunnel under the Rocher will not be in use. Instead, buses will be diverted along avenue de Fontvieille. Consequently, passengers traveling from Fontvieille in the direction of Saint Roman won't be able to use the stops at Fontvieille port.

Line 5

The buses will be diverted away from Port Hercule, rue Grimaldi and avenue du Port, and Fontvieille Port stops will not be in use in the direction of the hospital.

Buses return to their normal routes only on Friday afternoon from around 14:30, otherwise diversions remain in place throughout the Grand Prix event.
