New bus line through Monaco
The Principality and the Conseil General of the Alpes Maritimes department have jointly introduced a new bus service for local workers.
Route 101 runs from the parking area at St Laurent d'Eze, through Monaco, ending at Carnoles Pont de l'Union. Its inaugural journey was yesterday.
Bus drivers are ferrying passengers in the mornings and evenings during rush hour, with a break in services between around 10:00 and 15:30. It's squarely aimed at people who work in Monaco and live in the neighbouring towns, who are finding it increasingly difficult to find a seat on the number 100. The 101 follows the same route as the 100, which has seen a surge in popularity from tourists taking advantage of the 1 euro fare between Nice and Menton.
Residents of Cap d'Ail and Roquebrune Cap Martin who make the daily commute into Monaco should now find their journeys a little less nightmarish.
