Books for Christmas

Monaco in print.

The Principality features in the pages of two books, published just in time for Christmas. First, a children's book called "Noel a Monaco" (Christmas in Monaco) is written in both French and Monegasque. Author Francoise Gamerdinger follows Dina and Antoine Giancheti as they prepare for Christmas with traditional food, entertainment and festivities. Illustrated by Marie-Dominique Wurz and translated into monegasque by Karyn Salopek-Ardisson and Stephan Maggi, royalties for the book are to be donated to the Association Monegasque Contre les Myopathies. It's being sold in Fnac and the Christmas village, where the author will be signing copies on Saturday from 14:30.

The second tome is by Alain Ducasse of the Louis XV. "J'aime Monaco, ma Mediterranee en 170 adresses" has been written along with Jacques Gantie. In it the chef lists his favourite pubs, gardens, markets and lots of other places in the region around Monaco, as far as Provence and Liguria. With lots of photographs it's a perfect addition to the coffee table and is available in Fnac.
