Monaco's Medieval Festival.

Coming up on Saturday there's a treat in store for anyone who dreams about knights in shining armour and damsels in distress. Monaco's Medieval Festival takes place in various places on the Rocher, and it's all free entertainment. Here's what's in store:

  • 11:00, procession through the streets
  • In the Palace Square

  • 12:30, Enchanteurs de l'An Mil with poetry, magic and wizardry
  • 13:30, sword fight
  • 14:30, Enchanteurs de l'An Mil
  • 15:30, Hippogriffe horse and falcon demonstrations
  • 18:00, Enchanteurs de l'An Mil
  • 19:00, Hippogriffe horse and falcon demonstrations
  • 20:30, the Grimaldi storming of Monaco (prise du Rocher par Malizia)
  • In the Town Hall Square

  • 14:00, FRENCH LANGUAGE story telling
  • 18:00, medieval dancing followed by procession to Palace Square
  • 21:00, fire show by the Baladins de Meliador and closing ball by Carlamusa

In addition, there's a concert by the Ars Moriendi at 20:30 in the Eglise de la Misericorde, and throughout the day, lots of colourful street entertainers to "Delight our souls with talk of knightly deeds".
