Chef unveils plans for Monaco.
Last month we revealed that Karement is to be replaced by Cafe Llorca, and this week the world-famous chef spoke about his plans in an interview with Monaco Matin.
The new bar-restaurant is scheduled to open in the Grimaldi Forum in autumn and will offer affordable Ligurian cuisine. Lots of fish, pasta and risotto dishes will be on the regularly changing menu, inspired by the view of the Ligurian coast from the restaurant. For those with a sweet tooth, there'll also be plenty of French pastries. The restaurant will be managed by the Marc Lavergne group, with chef Alain Llorca making an appearance from time to time.
Llorca is no stranger to Monaco, having learned his trade in Alain Ducasse's Louis XV 17 years ago. Born in Cannes, he studied at the hospitality school in Nice, and has worked at the Negresco's Chantecler and the Moulin des Mougins. Currently he's running a Cafe Llorca in Colle sur Loup, following the establishment of two others, one in Vallauris and the other in Juan les Pins.
Work on the Monaco Cafe Llorca begins in July when Karement closes.
