Today the Mairie revealed its summer entertainment program.
Monaco's Mairie has lots of free entertainment for those of you staying in the Principality over the summer months. As usual, Port Hercule is hosting the summer fair from 12th July to 25th August, there are annual festivals celebrating music, Saint John the Baptist, and Monaco Ville, and regular bandstand concerts in Square Gastaud (see our listing below). Not forgetting the annual international musical fireworks competition, this year with entries from Canada, Poland, Italy and France (dates and times in Port Hercule listing below).
New to the agenda for 2011 are a number of free concerts on Friday evenings in Port Hercule (see our listing below). There are also pre-firework concerts in the Jardin Exotique, where you can stay on and watch the pyrotechnics from one of the best vantage points in Monaco.
In addition to fireworks and music, the Stade Nautique Rainier III celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Monaco's outdoor Olympic size swimming pool is providing a day of entertainment and activities on 19th August. You'll be treated to exhibitions of diving and synchronized swimming, and the little known traditional Monegasque sport of wrestling on water. Enjoy!
