Monte Carlo opens IRC season.
For the second year running, the first Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC) event of the season is the Monte Carlo Rally. One of the oldest and most prestigious motor competitions, the 2010 route covers just over 1669 km, mostly in the Ardeche region and around the Col de Turini. It's an exciting challenge that sees drivers tackling asphalt and gravel in snowy conditions. 63 crews have entered the competition that starts from Valence on 19th January. Drivers taking part include defending champion Kris Meeke, 2009 World Rally Championship (WRC) runner-up Mikko Hirvonen, 2009 Monte Carlo Rally winner Sebastien Ogier, and F1 driver Robert Kubica. Oh, and don't forget the historic rally at the end of January.
