2010 Telethon Village opens on Friday

Raising funds to help research into rare genetic diseases.

On Friday evening and all day Saturday, there are lots of activities around Monaco raising funds for the annual Telethon appeal. At the heart of the event is Telethon Village at Port Hercule. Kids will find plenty to keep themselves occupied, including workshops for circus skills and graffiti art. Adults can rummage around the stalls selling crafts, jumble and second hand items.

The Princess Stephanie Youth Centre is organizing 3 cabaret shows with a drink and a snack for 5 euros, and a music and circus non-stop on Saturday. Or why not treat yourself to breakfast on Saturday morning, delivered to your home in Monaco by a team from the Centre de la Jeunesse for 1.20 euros?

Funds raised go towards helping combat the 6000 rare, mostly hereditary diseases that affect around 30 million people in Europe. You can help by handing in your old, used mobile phones at collection points around the Principality, by pledging money on phone number 36 37, or on the Telethon website.
